Municipality Ordinances and Permits

This is not a complete list and is subject to change at any time due to townships and boroughs changing their policies. You still should check with your municipality on if there is any ordinances or not to rent a temporary dumpster. This is just a tool to help homeowners, renters, contractors and others to find the ordinances and permits quicker. The ones that do not appear to have any ordinances still may and you should contact them directly to make sure.

Lititz Borough

Warwick Township

There does not seem to be any ordinances for renting a dumpster in Warwick Township on their website that we can find.

Lancaster City

“A permit shall be required for the placement of any dumpster or other container in any right-of-way of the City of Lancaster. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to promulgate certain rules and regulations regarding the size, location, placement and duration of occupancy of any dumpster or other container within the City rights-of-way. No such permit may issue except upon payment of a fee as fixed from time to time by resolution of the City Council of the City of Lancaster.”

Columbia Borough Permit

They seemed to have taken down the link that we were using to send to people.

Conestoga Township does not appear to have any ordinances for renting a temporary dumpster.

Pequea Township does not appear to have any ordinances for renting a temporary dumpster.

West Lampeter Township Ordinance

§ 235-34 Building materials and dumpsters; permit fee.

East Lampeter Township does not appear to have any ordinances for renting a temporary dumpster.

East Hempfield Township does not appear to have any ordinances for renting a temporary dumpster. The last information we found from them on dumpster stated “Overnight parking of RV’s & boats and storage of pods or dumpsters – The need for an ordinance change to address this growing concern was discussed. Staff is working on drafting changes for presentation to the group” November 20, 2019

West Hempfield Township does not appear to have any ordinances for renting a temporary dumpster.

Manheim Township
